Who doesn’t love a day of celebration with friends and family?! Memorial Day is just around the corner and with it, a great opportunity for a beach day, BBQ, and lots of quality time with friends and family. In our busy world, it’s easy to get caught up in the day to day. While it’s great to be present and live in the moment, it’s times like these that it’s important for us to also remember and honor the past. We have been awarded this holiday because of our brave fellow Americans who gave their lives in service of our country protecting our freedom.
So my point to you is to be conscious of your thoughts. Research shows that DNA actually changes shape according to our thoughts. It has been proven that negative thoughts cause toxic changes in our DNA, leading to stress, which actually impairs the body’s natural healing process. But, wait, there is good news. Research has also shown that a reversal in this affected DNA can occur with feelings of love, joy, appreciation and gratitude! See where I’m going with this one. Although every day is a great day to do this, especially on this holiday weekend, take the time to express your appreciation and gratitude for what has been given to us and celebrate this day with joy and love.
